Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum

A single atomic bomb indiscriminately killed tens of thousands of people, profoundly disrupting and altering the lives of the survivors. Through belongings left by the victims, A-bombed artifacts, testimonies of A-bomb survivors and related materials, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum conveys to the world the horrors and the inhumane nature of nuclear weapons and spreads the message of “No More Hiroshimas.”

The museum is open today 7:30-19:00 (Last entry is 30 min. before closing time)

The museum currently receives a large number of visitors. Visitors may be required to wait for about an hour to purchase tickets on-site when the museum is crowded. We strongly recommend purchasing web tickets online in advance.

The extended opening hours (7:30-8:30 and 17:30-19:00) are for those with reservations ONLY. It is highly recommended to visit the museum during the extended hours as it is easier for visitors to explore the permanent exhibitions at their own pace in a less crowded environment. (Designated web tickets must be purchased online in advance to enter the museum during these extended opening hours.)
Visitors with other purposes* may enter the museum without waiting in line for tickets. (*Attending special exhibitions, Talks by A-bomb Legacy Successors/Hibakusha Family Member Legacy Successors, or participating in guided tours by Hiroshima Peace Volunteers, etc.)
