Guided Tours by Hiroshima Peace Volunteers

Hiroshima Peace Volunteers offer guided tours in English in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum as well as in the Peace Memorial Park.

The tour starts and ends at the museum, visiting atomic bomb-related monuments including the atomic bomb dome. Participants can leave the tour at any point.

Accepted if guides are available (anytime between 10:30am-2:30pm, near the Information Desk of the East Building)

 

* Guided tours inside the Museum are temporarily suspended. Only guided tours in the Peace Memorial Park are available.

Only on-the-spot bookings can be accepted on January 1 - 3, August 6, and December 29. (No in-advance reservation accepted.)

Note: Admission to the Permanent Exhibit requires payment. Guided tours in the Peace Memorial Park are available even if you don't visit the Permanent Exhibit.

●Guided tours in the Peace Memorial Park: 

 

Conducted twice a day at fixed time

1st tour begins at 10:45 and ends at 12:15

2nd tour begins at 14:00 and ends at 15:30

 

The check-in starts 15 minutes before the departure of each tour at the Peace Volunteers’ desk, located near the Information Desk on the first floor of the East Building. Advance reservations are NOT accepted.

 

*Each tour accommodates up to 10 people and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Depending on the number of available guides, there is a chance that we can only accommodate a maximum of 10 people.

 

*More tours may be offered in addition to the two fixed-time tours, if guides are available. Please inquire at the Peace Volunteers’ desk near the Information Desk between 10:30 and 14:30.

 

*Please let us know if your group includes a person who needs special consideration during the guided tour, such as a wheelchair user.

 

*If your group is a school and would like a guided tour, please consult with us, as we may be able to arrange additional tours depending on the availability of guides.

 

*During the months of July, August, and September, guided tours scheduled at fixed times will be temporarily suspended due to extreme heat. Walk-ins will be accommodated based on availability and capacity.

 

<Regarding reservations received by January 31st, 2024>

Guided tour reserved and confirmed by January 31st will be carried out as scheduled. 

Please note that if you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your tour, our guides may prioritize guests with on-the-spot booking and your booking may be canceled.

 

 

Miscellaneous

Guided tours may have to be canceled due to adverse conditions such as an approaching typhoon or an earthquake, or the cessation of public transportation, which makes it impossible for volunteers to provide guide services, or when guides are not available.
