【Important】Opening Hours Extension and Online Ticket Purchasing and Reservation Services

The G7 Hiroshima Summit held in May 2023 brought heightened attention to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. It increased the number of visitors, resulting in an occasional situation where long lines were formed in front of the entrance, causing a congestion inside the museum. To ease the congestion, we will extend the museum’s opening hours and introduce an online ticket purchasing and reservation services on a trial basis.

 

Trial period: March 1, 2024–March 31, 2025 (Reservation will start on Feb.16.)

 

1 The museum will open 1 hour earlier and close 1 hour later as of March 1.

The service will start at 12 am on Friday, February 16, 2024.

Tickets may be purchased or booked up to 90 days in advance.

Tickets are available for purchase for all the time slots during the opening hours.

Ticket reservations are available only for the time slots of the extended hours.

   (1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening.)

When you reserve a ticket, you are required to purchase it.

 

<How to Use the Service>

Use the platform on the museum’s website, select the certain time slot for entry and purchase your ticket. Show the two-dimensional barcode electronically sent to your email account to the museum staff and enter the museum.

 

<Language>

The service is available in 15 Languages: Japanese, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Chinese (traditional and simplified), Cantonese, Thai, Indonesian, Russian, Korean, Vietnamese, and Malay.

 

<Sales Condition>

Sales conditions of all the time slots during the opening hours will be shown on the platform (from February 26).

 

3 Other congestion relief measures:

(1) A live footage showing the outside of the museum building will be released on the museum’s website, so you can check the line in front of the entrance (from March 1).

 

(2) Fast track lane service for visitors who require special assistance such as people with disabilities, expectant mothers, and people with small children, will be started (from March 1).

 

(3) Additional coin-operated lockers will be installed (at the end of March).
