Atomic bomb survivor testimony video now available
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is not conducting any survivors’ testimonies at the moment. In this situation, we decided to provide a video clip of an atomic bomb survivor’s testimony for people unable to visit Hiroshima. In this video, Ms. Keiko Ogura talks about her experiences and desire for peace to students coming to the museum. Please listen to her story.
(born 1937, age 82 at the time of the testimony)
On August 6, 1945, when Keiko was 8 years old, she was exposed to the atomic bomb near her house, 2.4km away from the hypocenter. She has been active as one of the museum’s official atomic bomb witnesses since 2011.
