6-3-3-4A-bomb Survivor Testimony

A-bomb survivor recounting her experience for young people visiting Hiroshima from overseas December 2014

In the early 1970s, fear grew even in Hiroshima that the atomic bombing would be forgotten. Efforts to ensure that the survivors' experiences would be passed on redoubled. When Shinkansen service to Hiroshima opened in 1975, school fieldtrips to Hiroshima became popular in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo. More A-bomb survivors began telling children their painful experiences. At this point, over six million people have listened to A-bomb survivor testimony.
