Ichio Mitsui (then 43) was exposed to the atomic bombing at his home in Higashi-kan-on-machi before leaving for work and sustained injuries. While fleeing with his wife Kazumi (then 43), who got seriously injured by the collapsed ceilings, he was caught in the black rain. The rain left black spots on this backpack containing rice, soy sauce and other supplies.
