Thousands of junior and high school students mobilized in Hiroshima to demolish buildings for firebreaks lost their lives in the bombing. In cooperation with alumni associations, students hold memorial services even today. They are determined never to forget the tragedy suffered by students who came before them and the sorrow their families felt. Some high school and university students listen to the survivor testimonials over and over again so they can artistically depict key images, such as the moment of the blast, the search for family members, and survivors overcoming the bombing to live out their lives.
